Huawei’s first wagon presents specs

Stelato, a young carmaker born from the alliance of Huawei and BAIC, has supplied the technical specifications of its S9T estate car first revealed some in mid-July. It is slated for launch in September and may get up to 1,305 km (811 miles) of range depending on the powertrain.

The station wagon will go on sale in two variants – fully electric and serial (a.k.a. range extender) hybrid. The former will be available with either one motor driving the rear axle or two motors driving all four wheels. The single-motor spec will deliver 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW) to the wheels and the dual-motor one will produce 524 PS (517 hp / 385 kW) total. A CATL-sourced 100-kWh battery pack will supply over 800 km (500 miles) of range per charge.

The hybrid will get a 160-PS (158-hp / 118-kW) engine acting solely as a power generator for one out of two available batteries. The bigger 53.4-kWh pack will be enough for 354 km (220 miles) of range on electricity alone, Stelato claims. The range for the smaller 37-kWh pack remains unannounced. All we know is that the bigger pack will enable you to cover up to 1,305 km per charge, as mentioned above.

All propulsion in case of the hybrid will be handled by a single 309-PS electric motor at the back (same specs as above).

Like the previously announced sedan on the same platform, the Stelato S9T wagon is a fairly large car. It comes in at 5,160 mm (201.6 inches) long, 2,005 mm (78.3 inches) wide and 1,492 mm (58.3 inches) tall. The wheelbase spans 3,050 mm (119.2 in). Considering its premium positioning, it will likely be a four-seater despite approaching full-size SUV territory in terms of size.

According to CarNewsChina quoting a spec sheet from a certification database, it will ship with the latest Huawei infotainment software and as many as four LiDARs for self-driving and electronic assists.

It is being speculated that the model will cost from 350,000 Yuan ($49,000) at best, or higher.
