Chery iCar V23 spawns an S version that’s twice as powerful

Chery has posted the first images of a new iCar V23 modification coming to the domestic market soon. It is expected to hit the wheels with up to 455 PS (449 hp / 335 kW).

Like the standard V23 model seen in the video above, the performance modification will go on sale in two flavors – 2WD and AWD. The single-motor EV currently makes 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). The S version will be making 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW), AutoHome.cn reports.

Things look even more interesting for the AWD variant. It is currently obtainable with 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW) going to the four wheels. Adding “S” to the name will boost the output to the 455 PS mentioned above – more than twice as much.

Aside from a major powertrain upgrade, the new iCar V23 will ship with an extended black body kit and red accents in the shape of the letter S. New wheels shod in low-profile tires are also expected, but not confirmed. All interior and chassis details remain to be revealed.
