SRT – which stands for Street and Racing Technology – had been a Stellantis Group department for performance vehicles for many years, producing exclusive Dodges and Chryslers until its disbanding four years ago. Well, the automaker is now looking to bring it back.
RAM CEO Tim Kuniskis has confirmed that he will head the new SRT division as soon as it is reestablished. According to him, Stellantis is already looking to hire the best performance powertrain engineers.
In all likelihood, this means we will be seeing new high-end cars coming to the market from Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep brands. Aside from that, SRT will coordinate the participation of these brands in a number of U.S. motorsport events, such as the NHRA drag racing series. Ram had previously announced a comeback to NASCAR in 2026, and we now know the context behind this decision.
