Rare RUF CTR 2 Sport can fetch $3,5M at upcoming auction

RUF Automobile is believed to have produced only 14 examples of the Porsche 911-based CTR 2 Sport model. One of these gorgeous track-focused restomods is now heading to an auction in the United States where it may sell for $3–3.5 million, according to estimations.

The standard RUF CTR 2 was announced back in the ‘90s with a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine at its core. This rare Sport spec had its engine boosted to 587 PS (580 hp / 432 kW) and mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving all four wheels, which was optional for the model. Most examples at the time had their drive on the rear wheels.

Aside from this impressive powertrain overhaul, every RUF CTR 2 was outfitted with a special widebody kit and given a track-friendly interior. This particular example wound up with a roll cage, racing seats and a bespoke steering wheel. Back in 2007, it was sent back to the tuning company for some restoration and maintenance. While they were at it, the mechanic at RUF upgraded the suspension to Bilstein PSS10 coilovers.

Broad Arrow Auctions will offer the car for bidding next month. It has roughly 26,800 km (16,680 miles) under the belt, is fully serviced and in good working order.
