A Singer DLS worth $3M+ is heading to Monterey

Properly restored and modified Porsches often sell for far higher sums than their latest-generation counterparts. And if car collectors are to be believed, Singer Vehicle Design is the very definition of “proper”. One of its creations, a Singer DLS “Mame Commission”, will cross the auction block in August estimated to be worth $3.2 million.

The car belongs in a batch of just 75 Porsche 911 (964) models built by Singer for racing aficionados and collectors. It must have landed in the hands of the latter, because it is being offered with barely over 400 km (250 miles) on the odometer since 2022. The owner splurged on a $42,550 Fluid Silver paint job for it and ordered it with numerous carbon-fiber accents all around the body. 18-inch Fuchs-style wheels slotted into the arches, LED lights were installed, fenders were tastefully flared and a fairly big engine lid spoiler appeared at the rear end.

While the exterior of the car could be described as fairly restrained, the interior looks much livelier with its olive-green suede and black leather trim. The carbon-fiber X-brace in the back row was a $10,000 option, and the owner opted for a shifter knob made of maple wood.

A four-liter, six-cylinder engine built by Williams Advanced Engineering was tasked with driving the rear wheels. It sends 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) to the via a six-speed manual transmission.

A new Singer DLS cost from $1.8 million or so back when it was just announced in the United States. However, prices for these restomods have grown considerably over the past three years, and we saw a similar one (see video) change hands for $3 million last month.
