Wallet-friendly Skoda Epiq CUV reveals cabin

The Czech automaker has posted the first interior sketches of its upcoming electric crossover, Epiq. It’s scheduled for late May premiere and seems to be rather well-equipped with a modern infotainment system and traditional physical buttons.

Skoda bills the Epiq as its first vehicle to make full use of the Modern Solid interior design language. As such, it has clearly defined zones and mostly horizontal lines in the layout, keeping visual noise down to a minimum and creating a calm, clean and friendly ambience.

Even in its most basic form, the CUV comes equipped with a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen. Looking down from it reveals a row of physical buttons, and further down is a wireless charger along with a storage pocket for miscellaneous items. The digital dashboard is relatively small at 5.3 inches corner-to-corner, but that’s hardly a major criticism.

In earlier news, we learned that the Epiq will ship with electric motors ranging from 116 to 211 PS (114–208 hp; 85–155 kW). The biggest battery pack will be enough for 430 kilometers (267 miles) of range.

The European debut of the EV is scheduled for May 19th (the Tuesday two weeks away). Skoda promises to keep the starting price down to €26,000 or so.
