Mugen puts Type R equipment into 2027 Honda Fit

Several days after Honda refreshed its Fit compact hatchback in Japan (see video), its in-house tuner Mugen has followed up with a range of accessories.

The focus this time around is on the Performance Damper suspension kit co-developed with Yamaha and found on the FK8 Civic Type R. The company claims that these new dampers reduce micro-scale vibrations and distortions in the chassis, improving both handling and comfort. These come bundled with 17-inch wheels sporting new lug nuts.

Then there’s a body kit that includes a red front splitter, a black radiator grille, assorted decals and carbon-fiber mirror caps. The diffuser at the rear end is also new and can be ordered alongside a new, sportier muffler for a louder engine soundtrack.

Last but not least, the company offers its usual range of interior accessories, like branded floor mats, carbon-fiber door panel trims, and scuff plates made from the same lightweight material.

The 2027 Honda Fit outputs 116 PS (114 hp / 87 kW) in standard guise and 123 PS (121 hp / 91 kW) as a hybrid. Mugen doesn’t touch these numbers.
