Lesser Ram 1500 truck stays lesser after a round of tuning at Roush

Roush Performance has produced a range of tuning options for the Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4. It includes exterior, suspension and exhaust upgrades worth $16,000, while the 400-PS (395-hp / 295-kW) engine stays untouched.

One of the highlights of the release comes in the form of Roush Performance coilovers said to be equally well-suited for highway and off-road driving. These go well with new 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch General Tire Grabber A/TX tires, the tuner claims. To make your arrival heard, a performance exhaust system with an active valve for sound adjustment and two large black finishers is also available.

On the outside, the Ram 1500 looks fresh thanks to an added vented hood with stripes, fender extensions, a red Ram logo on the grille and U.S. flag motifs on the bed walls. Roush also mentions an electronic diff lock, a Trailer Assist system, a new rear axle, and skid plates. Some of these aren’t part of the main package.

The Big Horn variant of the pickup starts from around $63,000 in the States, meaning these Roush parts add nearly 25% to the price. That’s rather impressive, considering that unlike the Ram RTX with its 700-plus horsepower, the Big Horn makes do with less than 400. Then again, you can always ask another tuner for a power boost.
