Porsche Teases New Supercar with Mission S Concept

Porsche has introduced the Mission S concept, which previews a new design direction for the brand and hints at a future super sports car positioned above the 911.

The Mission S features a design that supports a mid-engine layout, incorporating elements from previous Porsche models. The front includes cues from the 911 GT1 race car, such as a central intake, 'torpedo' fenders, round headlights, and air vents on the hood. The rear design incorporates a small fan on the engine cover, inspired by the 917's radiator fan, a flowing rear wing integrated into the bodywork, a large rear diffuser, and four stacked exhausts.

The interior of the Mission S draws inspiration from the 356 and 550 Spyder. It features five digital gauges and a retractable smartphone system with a MagSafe connection, allowing the driver to use their phone for navigation or the Porsche app. Other interior elements include physical toggles for various functions, bucket seats with racing harnesses, and a carbon fiber shift lever.

Porsche has confirmed that a new super sports car with a similar design to the Mission S is under development. This vehicle is intended to be a permanent addition to its offerings, not a limited-run model. A previous report indicated that Porsche is developing a new eight-cylinder boxer engine for its upcoming flagship model.
