BMW has teased a more aggressive version of its electric i3, the i3 M60 xDrive M Performance. This model is expected to top the electric i3 lineup, at least until a full-fledged electric M model arrives. The M60 will join the i3 50 xDrive and i3 40 xDrive, with an official reveal anticipated sometime next year.
The M60 is expected to surpass the i3 50 xDrive's 469 horsepower and 4.7-second 0-62 mph acceleration. Visual differences include black performance wheels, sharper headlights with yellow M badge LEDs, and carbon fiber mirror caps. The rear features a more pronounced diffuser. Optional M Performance parts, such as a carbon fiber front splitter, a more aggressively styled rear diffuser, and a small carbon fiber rear spoiler, have also been shown.
Inside, the M60 features black upholstery with red and blue stitching, mood lighting, and red accents. The dashboard fabric appears more textured, and upgraded performance seats are suggested. The steering wheel differs from the i3 50's, with silver L-shaped spokes, a red stripe at the 12 o'clock position, and additional Boost and M Mode buttons, implying increased power compared to other i3 variants.
