Elderly Mercedes-Maybach gets turned into a Landaulet of sorts

California-based tuning company S-Klub LA has revealed its latest show vehicle: an opulent Mercedes-Benz Maybach 57 with a completely removed roof, but preserved side glass and unchopped pillars. The result will be exhibited at the Monterey Car Week coming up in mid-August.

According to the tuner, the body of the 2006 Maybach 57 needed a lot of reinforcement work after the roof removal. While at it, the car ended up with a custom front splitter, a comically large rear diffuser, and a rear wing to match. The exterior was originally dark blue, but got resprayed in Mars Red in the process.

Interior modifications boil down to a new high-end audio system on Audison and Herz components, as well as dash gauges moved from the now-absent headliner to under the rear window. You tell us why.

Rounding off the project are new turbochargers and a performance exhaust system for the stock V12 under the hood. The performance hasn’t been measured, but it should be in order for a luxury car.

The owner of the one-off Maybach 57 Lando is none other than John Sarkeesian, the owner of S-Klub LA. The car is also scheduled for a SEMA show debut in November, so it looks like it’s not going to be available for sale anytime soon.
